Cork Simon Ball

Our very own Ruth Fuller was proud to serve as Chair of the Cork Simon Ball Committee supporting a worthy cause through an annual fundraising gala held for the benefit of Cork Simon. The event which this year was held on 21st April 2023 at Fota Island Resort is regarded as one of the highlights in the Cork social calendar.

In Ruth’s words, “Cork Simon Community works very hard to try and achieve a society without homelessness. They are supporting more people than ever before on their very difficult journey to secure and affordable housing. They are managing their emergency services in a more trauma-informed way, offering greater security and dignity to those who rely on their services.
Over the last 21 years, the Cork Simon Ball has raised almost €1.4m to support the vital services provided by Cork Simon.”

Fuller Marketing and IMART are Crowned Digital Marketing Legends 2022

Fuller Marketing, one of Cork’s leading digital marketing agencies, were the big winners at the Cork Digital Marketing Awards 2022, hosted by Cork Chamber at the Carrigaline Court Hotel on Friday October 21st.

Marketing aficionados Fuller Marketing scooped 3 awards on the night – including the overall award – the Digital Marketing Legends Award 2022, along with the team behind the IMART Rugby World Cup, held in Cork in June of this year.

Fuller Marketing and IMART’s innovative and creative work throughout the year on a variety of IMART campaigns impressed judges to such a degree that they were crowned winners in the following categories:

  • Best in Content Creation – less than 20 employees
  • Best use of Digital Marketing for the Greater Good
  • Overall Digital Marketing Legend 2022

Speaking of their win Fuller Marketing Managing Director and IMART Project Team member, Ruth Fuller, said,

Tonight means so much to us for many reasons. To have our work acknowledged and rewarded amongst our industry colleagues, who are some of the best and brightest in Ireland’s digital marketing world, is a huge accomplishment for us. But to have our work on IMART, in particular, recognised and highlighted is an even greater triumph. It reaffirms and validates our own belief that by harnessing the power of digital marketing, we can effectively communicate with people all across the globe. We can use the power of digital storytelling to engage with people, to carry important messages on sport, equality, inclusion, fun and people power and to ultimately drive change for the better.

The strength of our partnership with IMART and the powerhouse that was the team behind this event, is a testament to how dedication, expertise and passion can form, build and shape a movement – and change lives along the way”.

In accepting the Award on behalf of IMART, Alan Craughwell, Director stated,

This is a great honour for the IMART team and Mixed Ability Sports Ireland. We knew digital marketing would play a significant part in the success of raising the profile of not just the event, but the sport itself, but only when we were in the throes of the World Cup planning did we come to fully appreciate the huge impact it really had. In Fuller Marketing, we found a partner that really understood our vision for breaking down barriers to participation in sport and for promoting social inclusion in our communities. It was a stellar partnership that delivered our message from a local to a global audience, to a level deserving of a world-class international tournament hosted in Cork.”

In thanking the judges, Alan acknowledged that, “Awards are so important to the work that we do, in showcasing our activities and highlighting the benefits of inclusion for us all.”

Sheila Kelleher, Strategy Director at Fuller Marketing went on to say,

These awards are so important for our industry – every single nominee is setting the standards of digital communications and driving the industry forward through their hard work and innovation. Tonight is a celebration of our collective efforts to have a worthwhile and meaningful impact through the work we do.

Thank you to the IMART and Mixed Ability Sports Ireland teams who came to Fuller Marketing with a vision of what this extraordinary event could be. Thanks to the players, teams, families and supporters who shared their stories with us and to the national and international media for ensuring they would be heard across the world. To the huge marketing team who worked to shine a light on this event, the companies who backed us, the 650 volunteers and the 25,000 people who came out to support IMART Cork 2022 – this award is in acknowledgment of your support. We learned so much and the experience will last a lifetime. It was an honour for us to be involved in what is only the beginning of this mixed ability movement.”

Ruth Fuller Explains How To Navigate The Changing Face Of Marketing

The old marketing rule book has largely been thrown out, but the basics remain unchanged. THE OLD MARKETING rule book has been largely thrown out the window, particularly for business-to-business marketing.

In the past, events and corporate entertainment, brochures and trade shows, were the lynchpin of international business development, but things are very different in 2019.

The businesses we see every day are finding it difficult to keep pace with what seems an infinitely changing marketplace – how do they keep up? The Golden Pages have long since been replaced by the bible directory that is Google. Where once there was direct mail, now there is email marketing running in tandem with direct mail.

Cold calling is, for the most part, a thing of the past and lead generation has assumed its place in the marketing world.

Press advertising has been largely supplanted by content integration, digital advertising, jobs boards, recruitment postings… the list goes on. Getting the message right The basic rules of marketing remain steadfast, but in essence, it all comes down to the right message, the right person, at the right time.

But the ways in which we drive that message home are now completely different to 20, or even just 10 years ago. The landscape has changed, almost beyond recognition in some instances.

So, while we stick to the knitting in terms of goals, the key to a successful marketing campaign has been and always will be, creating a message that resonates with your target market. Businesses must learn to navigate these new waters in terms of the tools they use to achieve these goals. Regardless of how advanced marketing has become, when it comes to international lead generation you must start with the basics and ask, “Who is my audience?” and “What do they want to know?”.
